5 Reasons Why Video Podcasting Is Your New Best Friend

What is the one thing that almost all podcasters are doing wrong? They aren’t recording a video podcast! Yes, podcasting started as an audio-only platform, but it isn’t staying that way. As industry leaders, we believe that video is the future, and it has the potential to take your podcast to the next level. Check out the five reasons why your podcast must add a video element:

  1. Make Postable Content – What content are you using to promote your podcast on social media? As you might know, we are huge proponents of repurposing your podcast to create content, but it’s rather challenging to achieve without video. If you record a video along with audio for your podcast, you can do away with your boring audiograms and upgrade to more engaging video clips! Ultimately, videos are much more versatile as content, and they are significantly more engaging.

  1. Make Your Podcast Stand Out – If you want to grow your podcast listenership, your goal is always to stand out to potential listeners. Creating and posting engaging content is one of the premier ways to find new listeners, and video makes this much more possible. Most podcasters haven’t jumped on the video bandwagon yet, and being an early adopter is a sure-fire way to make your podcast stand out from the crowd!

  1. Room To Experiment – One of the best ways to stand out from the crowd is to experiment with new elements within your content. In our experience, video has allowed our brand manager Abigail to get far more creative with the content she creates.
  1. Expand Your Reach – While podcasting has exploded and grown exponentially in listenership over the last decade, the truth is many people remain resistant to audio-only content. Some people struggle to retain information that they receive audibly, and others prefer to watch a visual element while listening. Try adding video to your podcast to make your content more enticing to a broader audience!

  1. Creating a Brand – Have you ever been surprised by the way that your favorite podcaster looks? When we are limited to listening to people, we make our own vision of their image, and it’s often entirely incorrect. Unfortunately, the same thing can happen to your brand. Adding video to your podcast allows you to control the image that others have of your brand!
