What goes into editing a podcast?

We want you to sound your best! Upon receiving your raw audio, we do the following, where possible:

  • Eliminate mic bleed where possible

  • Soften plosives where possible

  • Remove background noise as possible

  • Remove accessory mic noise (hitting table, mic being passed from person to person, etc)

  • Remove audible breaths where possible

  • Remove mouth clicks and other jarring noises where possible

  • Apply EQ, compression, deEssing, noise suppression, limiting, (etc) to each dialogue track to make each speaker more intelligible and consistent thought the episode

  • Apply side-chain compression to intro/outro music to ensure that it doesn’t bury the speakers

  • Remove all possible gaps in speaking that are over 1 second-long to sound more natural for listeners

  • Remove all possible stutters, uhs, umms, mistakes, etc to sound more natural for listeners

  • Apply compression and limiting during mastering to ensure it meets industry loudness standards and maintains a consistent, intelligible volume throughout the episode

Once we have the completed podcast, we upload the finished audio to your hosting site or deliver the finished product to you!

Why do I need you to edit my podcast and help with my social media content?

There’s a lot of things that go into producing and editing a good podcast. It can be time consuming and cause you to get burned out. (It’s called podfade) We do all the technical stuff, so you can focus on recording and the other important things for your business

If you do your own podcast production and social distribution, here’s what it might look like:

  • Recording: 1-3 hours per week (This isn’t so hard!)

  • Editing: 2-4 hours per episode (Oh...I’ll just do it after work!)

  • Blog & show note writing: 1-2 hours per episode (Hmmm...I don’t need THAT much sleep, I guess.)

  • Video Editing: 3-5 Hours depending on the amount of content you need. (This is a lot, how can I do this every week?)

  • Scheduling: 1-2 hours per week: (Ok, I’m getting tired just thinking about this.)

  • Researching audio and video practices, captioning, intros and outros, social trends, algorithms… (OK!!! Where do I sign up?!)
